Blinds & Awnings for Dainfern
Dainfern's golf-estate homes are built around the fairway view — we fit blinds and awnings that protect it, not block it out.
Big glass, fairway views, a committee to keep happy
Dainfern sits just over the boundary from Chartwell, and the two areas share a lot in common — generous stands, secure gated living, and living rooms built to look out onto something green, whether that's a paddock or a fairway. Homes here tend to be tall, double-storey builds with large glazed sections framing the golf course or the estate's internal greenbelt.
One thing that's specific to Dainfern: as a managed golf estate, changes visible from the outside — including some blind and awning finishes — can be subject to estate aesthetic guidelines. It's worth having your consultant confirm the estate's requirements during the free in-home measure, before anything is ordered.
The storm-season and dust considerations are the same ones we work with in Chartwell — highveld wind and hail from roughly November to March, and enough dust in the air on the estate's internal roads to make wipeable fabrics and sealed cassettes worth choosing.
Before you decide anything: a fairway-facing patio and a Chartwell paddock elevation have the same underlying problem — wide unshaded glass on a bearing the afternoon sun sweeps across 52 degrees of horizon through the year. We wrote it all down in Nothing in the Way, our free Chartwell Light Journal: sun angles, hail timing, and what we'd fit on each elevation with the honest catch on every one.

Products we fit most often here
- Sunscreen roller blinds for living rooms that face the fairway
- External venetian blinds for hard west-facing glass walls
- Folding-arm awnings with wind-sensor motorisation over entertaining patios
- Motorised blinds & automation for the tall, double-volume glazing common in estate mansions
